Question:

High stakes cash games?

I hear frequently on GSN's High Stakes Poker where they say that this player plays in the big cash games at one casino and that player plays in the big cash games at that casino. Just exactly how much money do they play for in the everyday, big cash games at the major casinos? Say it was a seven card, no-limit, stud game. How much to open and how much per card would be a standard big cash game?

  1. The Venetian and Bellagio both have $600-$800 no limit games in their high stakes room, and "Bobby's Room", a private room within the Bellagio, is considered an office for most big name high stakes players.  I'd say anything above $500 min bet is considered high stakes.  The minimum buy in for such a game would most likely be $10,000, although $25,000 would be what most players consider comfortable.

  2. I watched the TV broadcast couple of times.  The buy in is $100,000.   I love playing poker, but I can never never doing that for a living.
