Higher English, Scotland?

Question

I got a 2 in standard grade Enlgish.

I was wondering if it would be too high a jump for me to go into higher, also I need a B to get into the uni course I'm after.

Can it be done?

It can be done. An 1 and 2 at Standard Grade are equivalent to Intermediate 2 which is designed to move you into Higher. If they won't let you, you should appeal.
