  1. I think you're on to something.

A gallon of gasoline contains 28980 calories.  At $4.00 per gallon for gas, then a can of Coke or Pepsi is already 43 times as expensive as motor fuel when compared on a unit of energy basis.

Coke and Pepsi have net profit margins of 21% and 14% respectively.  Exxon and Chevron have net profit margins of about 10% and 8% respectively, meaning they only make about half as much prifit as the beverage giants.

Soda is carbonated water, sugar, and carmel color that is mixed in a factory for pennies on the dollar.  Need I mention that water is the most common substance on the surface of the earth?

Gasoline is a dangerous, volatile, complex mixture of hydrocarbons, which is produced as crude oil from depths of up to 20,000 feet, shipped across the world, and refined and sold as motor fuel.

It is about time somebody realized that even at their current prices, crude oil and gasoline are a bargain compared to other things we buy on a daily basis.

Soda....43 times as expensive as gasoline when comparing caloric content

Big Mac Meal....32 times as expensive

    Medium Fries....24 times as expensive

    Beer.....50 times as expensive

    Whole Milk......9 times as expensive

    Eggs....16 times as expensive

    Vegetable Oil....1.8 times as expensive

    Bottled Water....infinitely more expensive

  2. everything is going up.

basic staples like rice, potatoes, eggs, milk, ect ect are so high.

we have bought our last 12 packs of soda. not buying anything that isn't necessary anymore.

now that our gas has hit 4 plus we have to cut back.

  3. I HAVE TO AGREE WITH THE ONE ABOVE ME

  4. They go up because the more diesel goes up the more expensive it is to ship stuff, I know the 99 cent menus are $1.00, now I am one penny shorter

  5. to compare fuel with food its more likely you will consume more fuel than you do food to say that fuel price are cheaper than soda is irrelevant your not going to consume 10 gallons of soda in one day!!! totally disagree with ae!!the thing is transportation is going up as so will all products life is getting more expensive thing we need to do self boycott things  like instead on soda maybe a glass of water thing like that
