Which is an example of a European country which has a higher standard of living than the United States, but consumes half as much energy

  1. They don't use Air conditioning in most of europe.  They are required by law to turn their car off if they are at a red light.  They don't regularly drink cold drinks.  They ride bicycles everywhere and have an excelent public transpotation system.  Also their fuel is even more expensive than ours.  This is Germany I'm talking about but I've heard it is the same in other European countries.

    They regualy take vacations during the year that they call holidays.  They generaly do not work on the weekends and there is very few 24 hour stores.  Nearly all buisnesses are closed on Sundays.  This includes walmarts.  They take long lunch breaks daily.  Long as in 2 hours.  Life is treasured and they regularly have festivals in each town and city.  Eating out at a restaurant is more about a social event than just food.
