  1. half raises !! they will burn and keep going then side jumps over something about 6 in off the ground..then jump block and jump approach...work out hard and if it burns keep going this will help. (stairs help also)

  2. If you are near a beach or sand, run 1 mile in the sand everyday.  I used to play in AVP and we ran in the sane daily and in preseason training, we would check vertical and after two weeks of running in sand, we gained on average 4 inches in vertical height.

  3. run everyday

pick one spot on a wall and continuously jump to there everyday

    work out your calves

  4. jump rope like crazy, get the weights that strap on to your shoes, and squats maybe...

  5. First know the muscles involved in increasing you vertical jump. Since jumping requires a lot of leg power, a lot of strengthening and endurance activities should be focused on the lower body.

Try squats and lunges. Make sure that you exceed repititions depending on how much you are able to do. For example, if you can do 20 lunges per leg, try to do 30.

Ofcourse, practice makes perfect. Try to practice vertical jumps along the net so you can control your balance. Always remember to have adequate rest so that your muscles can get stronger.

  6. for a fun way get a basketball ring and just dunk

i went from a vertical leap of 76 to 98 when i was younger

  7. There are few things greater than the following links.

while they are designed to prevent injury (cant jump higher if your injured, right?), the overall outcome is a stronger faster body that can jump higher.

  8. These are two very good programs to add inches t your vertical

  9. the best way to gain vertical is to just simply "jump".

personally, i gained vertical when i was younger unintentionally. i had a basketball court in my backyard and i was really into dunking because my cousins got me into it. so i would lower the hoop down to the highest height i could possibly dunk it and just keep practicing until i could comfortably dunk on that height. then i would raise it a bit and keep doing it. who knew that it would pay off years later in volleyball. dunking can also help you with your spike approach since they are fairly similar. but even if you don't play basketball. a rim is still a useful tool to jump towards since it's better than jumping at a wall.

  10. jumping up small heights will help. this improves muscles that control your short quick movements.

    Try these few things:

Ladders: short quick movement through the ladder squares, get creative with how you do it each time. try one foot at a time. 2 feet in each square, two feet skip a square. from the sides doing a skiing motion.

Stairs: do every stair moving quick, then jump up with both feet together, use you CALVES. try doing these with a medicine ball or weight to have resistance.

resistance training:if you can do any jumping with resistance do it it will help a ton. if you have access to a VertiMax machine use it a lot.

note: running long distances will not help, in fact it will make your vertical worse because it tone your long twitch muscles and you need short twitch to jump. doing sprints tho will help you a little
