The higest paid are the ones who are entrepreneurs with their own specialty restaurants and related businesses.  Gordon Ramsay, Emeril, Todd English, etc.

According to this article, the next richest are chefs in Las Vegas.  Reportedly up to half a million.

From my knowledge and learning as a chef in resorts for the past 5 years.... no matter what anyone tells you......Majority of the Highest paid chefs are in Resorts, Hotels, or chefs who own and manager multiple restaurants....

Salarys range from :

Exec Chef - marriott,hyatt,hilton - 150,000-550,000 yr plus bonuses

Soux Chefs - marriott,hyatt,hilton - 70,000-150,000 yr
