  1. Like the above poster said, there isn't a "max" score anymore.

The scoring is comprised in two ways now: Execution and degree of difficulty.

In Execution you can, in a way, get a perfect 10, but they say that don't expect anyone to reach that number in the near future.

The second component is basically based on how much you do and how difficult it was.

14.5-15.5 is are average scores. And 16.5+ is considered very good.

I was watching today and they said a girl scored 16.3 on uneven bars in events prior to Olympics and that was one of the highest scores they had seen.

  2. So on the website... it says 2 scores are added together

    Execution ...max of 10

Difficulty is a preset score based on the elements the gymnast includes in their routine.

    It is comprised of ...

    1. a point or less for each of the top 10 elements. (so a max of 10)

    2. 0.2 or less for each connected element up to nine (so max of 1.8)

    3. 2.5 point for including all required basic elements

So in theory that is a max of 24.3.  But like others have said anything above 16.5 is exceptional.  Right now the highest difficulty anyone attempts is a 7.7 (Lukin on Uneven bars) meaning the highest score possible in this Olympic games is a 17.7.

  3. there is no limit...

but a good score is like 16
