At number ten is Manchester City’s goal scoring Machine, Carlos Tevez. The Argentine was bought from city rivals United and made an immediate impact since his first day at the club. His ability, technique and dedication to the club have made him a fan favourite
at the Eastlands.
At number nine is Liverpool’s faithful centre back, Carragher. The veteran defender who has spent his entire career at Anfield has become almost a cult hero in Liverpool. He hardly ever misses a match for the Pool and seems to give his best every time he
steps on to the fields of Anfield.
At number eight is Michael Owen. Most people would have suspected that Owen would have made an appearance on the list back when he played for New Castle however, it is the Owen of United that has made the list. Owen became an overnight hero when he scored
the crucial match winning goal against City in the ninety third minute. He has ever since not been very good but seems to be doing fine in the jersey sales department.
At number seven is Chelsea’s goal scoring machine, Didier Drogba. Known at Stamford Bridge as the ‘Black Storm’, Drogba has won the hearts of the millions of Chelsea fans all over the world. He has even won the praise of his opponents on numerous occasions.
At number six is Drogba’s team-mate at Chelsea, Frank Lampard. Lampard has been a sensation at the Stamford Bridge ever since he arrived at the club and is on the verge of becoming the greatest player of all time, in the club’s history. It is his constant
contribution and never say die attitude that has made him the fan favourite at Stamford Bridge.
At number five is Arsenal’s talismanic and mercurial attacker, Andrei Arshavin. Arshavin won the hearts of almost every Arsenal fan ever since he joined the club. He scored four goals against Liverpool at Anfield and that propelled to super stardom in the
Premier League. The Russian assassin isn’t done converting fans yet and in the near future will only jump higher up the list.
At number four is Arsenals captain, Cesc Fabregas. Fabregas has been in terrific form for the Gunners and got promoted to the role of being a captain due to these performances. He is easily the fan favourite at Emirates and will hope to carry on the same
influence for seasons to come.
At number three is Manchester United’s goal scoring machine last season, Wayne Rooney. Rooney has been in the form of his life ever since he joined the club and doesn’t look like stopping any time soon. Rooney has scored countless goals and is always the
player the United fans want to see more off. However, it was not surprising to see that he was not further up the list. The Englishman has yet to score a field goal this season and he is usually seen out of place while performing for Sir Alex Ferguson.
At number two is Liverpool faithful, Steven Gerrard. Captain fantastic as he is known around Anfield, he has been giving his all to the club ever since he joined them. He has also been at Liverpool for his entire career and it is this dedication that has
earned him support of the fans.
At number one is Liverpool’s golden boy, Fernando Torres. Torres was one of the most expensive players ever bought by the club. He has however repaid the Liverpool management by scoring numerous spectacular goals. He is easily one of the best strikers in
the world at present and the fans know this. Every time Liverpool are to play a team their opposition rearranges their defence specially to contain the Spanish goal machine.
