Highlights from the final round of BMW International Open – Part 4
2010 Ryder Cup captain of the European side, Colin Montgomerie compiled a score of 9-under-par in the four-day session to occupy the 18th place on the leaderboard. The Scot stepped into Sunday with a score of 68, but wrapped it with a 69 after
carding three birdies.
Montgomerie has been out of form since the start of the season, primarily because of the long break he took last year while selecting the Ryder Cup squad. The rust is coming off slowly, but it seems it will take time for the veteran to return to his best.
Miguel Angel Jimenez finished tied in the group of four at the 39th spot. The Spaniard, who won three European tour titles in 2010 could not revoke the magic with his putter, which he possesses command on.  Instead, he remained out of limelight
for most of the tournament.
Jimenez carded the opening three rounds of 70s and wrapped the tournament with a 69, which itself was not impressive. The winner of 2004 BMW International Open picked three birdies in the front and two at the back to seal the day with a score of 6-under.
The Spaniard was joined by Shiv Kapur, who signed a score of 75 after dropping six shots in the day. Despite that, the Indian banked on  €12,800, which is a huge reward for a game like his.
One stroke below him was a group of players that included Francesco Molinari. The Italian proved as one of the worst performers in the tournament. He kicked off with a score of 1-over par 73, which broke his momentum and despite trying hard to beat the odds
against him, the player could not lift his head. He wrapped the day with the same score after carding four birdies against three bogeys and one double bogey.
Paul Lawrie, who was being considered as the betting favourite, led down the expectations of the spectators and wrapped the day with a score of 73. He carded six birdies in the day, but spoiled the score with five bogeys and one double bogey. The player
faced problems in short game right from the start of the tournament, which eventually left marks on his scorecard.
Andreas HartØ relished success in carding the highest score of the tournament. The player signed for 5-over-par, 10 on the eleventh hole, a feat he would’ve wanted to forget soon. However, it did not stop there, as the player double-bogeyed the immediate
hole and one more after a gap of three holes.
