Highlights from the final round of the Saint-Omer Open – Part2
This article is a continuation of the Highlights of the final round of the Saint-Omer Open, which took place at the Aa Saint Omer Golf Club in France.
A seven-way tie was seen at the seventeenth spot on the leaderboard, which included Chris Lloyd, Sam Little, Julien Guerrier, David Dixon, Martin Erlandsson, Thomas Norret, and Federico Colombo.  The group banked on € 7,260, which is a big return for posting
a score of 2-over par.
The highest score of the seven was made by Colombo, who carded a 76 by dropping six shots, making just a single birdie. The rookie has not been in the limelight throughout the tournament, but his 67 from the second round earned him applause, as he was one
of the few players to post a score in 60s, while it rained.
On the other hand, the lowest score of the group was made by Dixon. The Englishman grabbed four birdies in the day alongside a hole-in-one, which was the only one in the four-day session. The 34-year-old hit a crisp iron shot on the par-3, 17th that
traveled three yards and fell right into the hole. Looking at the ball going straight into the cup, the crowd serenaded the course with applause.
Another low-scorer in the group was Lloyd, who posted a 68 with the help of three birdies, one eagle and two bogeys. The player drove the tee-shot on the ninth hole in the direction of the wind, which helped the ball cover three and a half yards. Taking
the ball from there with a fairway wood, Lloyd took a second shot to hit the green in regulation, which ultimately made the room for a glorious eagle.
Mu Hu, who was one of the highest scorers of the day, signed for a 79. The rookie reeled a single birdie on the front and coloured the back nine in shades of blue and black. Blue denotes a bogey on the PGA tour, while black is the colour for a double bogey.
Hu bogeyed five consecutive holes and double-bogeyed two to have his name registered in the worst scorers in the tournament.
Included in the list of high scorers was Bjorn Akesson, who signed for a 77 with the help of seven bogeys.
Three players recorded a score in 80s, including Borja Etchart (80), Klas Eriksson (80) and Clodomiro Carranza (81). Etchart failed to post a single round in par and recorded 22 bogeys and one double bogey in the four-day session. Whereas, Eriksson recorded
20 bogeys and 3 double bogeys.
Carranza had, embarrassingly, the highest score of the tournament, but despite that he banked on €882 worth of prize money, not a bad prize at all for being the worst player of the tournament.
