Highlights questions?

ok so....

i have black hair and about 4 months ago, i got red highlights [with bleaching first] at a hair salon. 3 days after that, i took a shower because i heard that you had to wait a while to wash your hair. when i was done showering, my highlights turned orange. i got mad at first, but i moved on.

NOW, i want to re-dye it red again. But this time i'm just going to buy the highlight product at a store.

?what color would the higlights turn out?

?what color will it fade to afterwards?

Hello, my sister deals with dyes all the time and gave me some tips. Well it all depends on what dye you use, and you are suppose to wash your hair right after the dyeing, and yes it might fade a little but not drastically, you might need to dye it twice depending on the brand.
