Question:

Highly Sensitive Person?

I was wondering how many people on here were 'Highly Sensitive.' [[HSP]]

I confided in a friend of mine about 2 days ago, and she gave me a few online tests to try out and see my results. Needless to say, I scored pretty high on most of them.

I'm not going on what the tests say because I know they might not be completely accurate.

I'm just looking for people who truely are, maybe they could provide some support and information.

  1. O-M-G!!! I cry alot!!!!

  2. I am sensitive, but I wouldn't say highly so, unless you mean in some paranormal way. (silly me, I see ghosts). You probably have a high IQ, also. As long as you don't over-react to things or get overly emotional, I don't see a problem--thank the good Lord you have feelings and aren't some careless sociopath. Best wishes!

  3. When your highly sensitive, you'll eventually will know it. I was always, but I would push it away because it scare me a lot as a child. There is many way of being sensitive, we are all made with different blue prints that makes up our make up of who we are.

I am sensitive in a few ways, I have always seen, or felt the presence of spirits, communication, and telepathy, ESP, and other ways.

I believe the more open you are the more sensitive you are. For me openness and prayer is pretty powerful, and safe. It helps much when you react on the way your body feels, listen to your first thought, and the way your body is feeling and go with the way you feel, prepare and you'll know when the moment is near.....here I am speaking of warnings that I sense, like when something bad is about to happen....I have learn to listen to my dreams and the way I feel, there is a reason.....openness, intuition and prepare.

  4. Do you mean sensitive to paranormal things? or..Empathetic? I'm very sensitive to being hurt. Seems like a lot of people know that and use it against me. There's medication that can numb you from being overly hurt. The thing is...if you take enough not to hurt..you can't feel much else either. I'm pretty sure you meant in a paranormal way. I think I used to be that way...that's why my nervous system is such a wreck now. Also from picking up on other people's feelings. Be careful who you tell about your paranormal abilities..unless you have someone to protect you.

  5. sorry dont no what 2 say

  6. jo mama

  7. ok, I am a seer and Sensitive...I cry alot now. I always have been a Seer, and didnt have the Sensitive part till about 8 mo. ago, when a group of witches moved in the downstairs appt. ok, go to About.com. and go to healing, there, go to empathic traits, and then the Sensitive person's survival guide. That sound like you?? cool beans. Welcome to the club!

  8. You might want to know that having your hormones out of whack (adrenal, in particular, but also thyroid) can make you *very* sensitive in a horrible way. Sensitive to people, sounds, lights, odors, etc.   I've also tended to be a bit sensitive, but when my glands got weird I nose-dived.  It was horrible.

Why did you post in this section?

  9. I don't think being highly sensitive is something that people are at all times.  Everyone has times when they have a gut feeling.  It's human and it sounds like you are wanting to try to be more in touch with those feelings.  I don't think it's like science fiction where the "HSP" stands out more so than others.

  10. I don't think you need an online test to tell you if you're a sensitive person.  You should be able to tell that about yourself easy enough.  I just hope you're not trying to peg yourself as a special classification of person.  "Sensitive" is a word I see bandied about by New Age folks, much like the "Indigo" label, that is supposed to indicate some sort of special power.  I don't know the purpose of such a label or why this special label is even necessary.  We're all special people in our own way.

  11. I have the book but I haven't read it yet.

    What were the wesites?

I have a feeling I'd score high too...

  12. Actually, to let you know, those tests are extremely accurate. The tests are those just like the tests that you would take for depression, bipolar etc..

I am also HSP. I believe some people are confused by this question because it is iin the paranormal group. Let me explain, being HSP can mean that you are a truly sensitive person i.e to noises, stimuli etc..

but it also means that people who are HSP, also tend to be more "gifted" than those who are not. meaning that you might "see: things or communicate with the dead.

It is quite hard to deal with, not only because of how sensitive you are to stimuli but to the people who do not believe in the things that you may see, hear etc.

I reccommend yoga or something that you are interested in to help deal or settle you down.

ALSO. do not be afraid or embarrassed if you are a gifted person, enjoy it. Read books. find out what you are capable of.

    Enjoy.

    ;)

  13. Most of the people who answered above me dont know exactly what your talking about.

I'm a HSP and sometimes it's cool but other times it sucks... I get shaky around electronics, and can hear and feel the wavelengths and sometimes they give me headaches..

I'm guessing you can probably feel the energy of people around you, and sometimes tell their moods, right?

I'm not going to say it's perfectly normal, and no, not every one is born with it, but you can train it. Just focus in on it , and you can find excercises online to help train it.

    hope this helped   =D

p.s. dont worry about people thinking your nuts either, theyre just jealous cause they cant do it!

  14. What do you mean highly sensitive? Do you mean emotionally or like, intuitively?  I would like to take those tests if you could post them here.

  15. My aunt can see auras every once in a while.  She says she can't concentrate and see them, it just happens when she's not thinking about it.

I generally think stuff like this is BS, but I truly believe her.  She's not otherwise "new age" etc. in her lifestyle, and she doesn't try to make money from it etc.  She said it can be startling sometimes with especially mean people, and how intensely negative their aura is.
