What does she know that she needs protection from?

Quite probably to do with drugs use. Hers or Heath's.  She could incriminate herself by saying she used them, or even worse if she was the one who acquired some for him.  And I don't just mean drugs like cocaine, I also mean prescription drugs like sleeping tablets or strong painkillers etc.

I agree with the post above me. I just wonder what it is that she is hiding? She was even the first to receive a call on the situation rather than 911. so she must be involved one way or another. And if she has nothing to hide why ask for immunity from procecution? Idk I think that she provided it to him.

She should have quietly spoken to the police - if she has nothing to hide about where he got drugs from she should just speak up.
