  1. No, you might think its different, and even though you might go 12 weeks without using your colored pencils, don't lose them because you WILL need them.

You will need a compass if you take Geometry.

    You will have smaller lockers.

That is all you need to know.

  2. not really. just if your classes are diffrent and you have semesters, or something, you might need more binders, but other then that, nothing really.

  3. money

once u go to the school store

    youll never leave

  4. I assume you mean middle school, not grade school...

It really all depends on various factors that are different for every school. First, try seeing if, perhaps, the school has a suggested list of school supplies.

Some good basics, however, are the following:

    >> Depending on your preference, a nice, sturdy, lightweight folder/binder/whatever. I personally have a penchant for binders, but that's just me. It's nice, however, to have them be lightweight so as to relieve as much strain as possible on your back (trust me--with high school textbooks, you need as much help as you can get). Be sure it's large enough to hold all needed papers. I use 2" rings.

    >> Pencils. Lots and lots of pencils, with a nice holders for them and a few pens and highlighters (for peer grading and studying, respectively). Those suckers will disappear FAST...

    >> Looseleaf college-ruled paper. Teacher prefer college-ruled, and it's easier than ripping it out of a notebook (which gives the hated "paper fuzz")

    >> A large, sturdy backpack. With padded straps. You will bless those padded straps, especially if you don't have a locker.

    >> A nice graphing calculator. I suggest TI-83. If it's too expensive, most schools have some that can be rented out.

    >> If you have (useable) locker, get one of those little pop-up shelves to put on the bottom. It's nice for throwing your books on.

    >> A floppy ruler. Wooden ones tend to break.

    >> A planner. Basically a little weekly calendar book, you write down the copious amount of homework you're assigned.

    >> Depending on your classes, there's various specialized supplies required by each teacher. Luckily, they tend to tell your on the first days of class, and give you a grace period to obtain them.

  5. Notebooks. Make sure you have your notebooks organized. Oh and have plenty of pencils and pens. I would also invest in a scientific calculator for math/chemistry classes.

I am a math teacher and you do not need a graphing calculator as mentioned above. Your school will provide you with one if you need it. Do not waste your money on one.

  6. Leave the paste, glue, and crayons at home, you need pens, a day planner to document daily assignments and test dates, note book with five sections, one for each class.

You will need a hole punch for your syllabus papers and a few pencils. Be sure to wear your watch, you are responsible for your time planning. Money, take only what you need, no cola;s while at school, you don't need the caffeine. and take your best listening skills, If you don't have any, develope these skills before entering high school.
