I'm about to be a freshman.

That way I can budget and organize my time for studying, sports, & social activites.

Any thoughts, tips, secrets, or ideas?

  1. im gunna be a freshman to. And thats what im gunna do, cause im doing sports and im in honors classes. so itl be very helpful. :D you should. :D

  2. Some schools give out weekly/monthly planners. I would wait to see if your school gives out one before you go out and buy one.

  3. I did this when I was your age. It's a great idea. Just make sure that you grab a planner with enough room to write what you did for the day AND your homework for each class on each day. Then leave room to check them off.. Unless you just cross them out.

You should have a separate one for social activities though.. as you don't want to be looking at school work when you're trying to figure out which movie you want to go see!

  4. Using a planner is an excellent idea. This coming year we are requiring planners for all our students. Here are some suggestions. First, get one that is 3 hole punched to fit in your binder. Go to your school district website and print off the school calendar, then fill in teacher workshops, holidays, half days etc. Go to your school counseling office and find out important dates such as when the PSAT and other tests are going to be given. That way you can get ready for them. Find out if your family is planning any vacations during the school year and block that in so you can advise your teachers well in advance. That way, there is no excuse not to have your make up work available ahead of the vacation. Finally, set a goals for each week and keep score on how well you accomplish them. I hope this helps.

  5. Um, it's a planner. You right down events and to-do-lists. There are no "tips and secrets"

  6. I think that's a great idea. I would forget everything if it wasn't for my planner!

I color coded everything. I put tests/papers/projects in red and i put: DUE DATE __ FOR __, then i write it on the due date so I won't leave it at home or do something stupid lol.

Then for extracurricular activies, I put it in a different color with the time, etc.

I also make sure to write down my locker and combination. It's printed on our schedules, but I know I'll lose my schedule.

Hope I helped. Good luck with your freshman year!

  7. I've been using a planner since the 5th grade.

It's a great way to stay organized with all of your school projects & other things.

I don't know what I would have done w/o it.

  8. I think that this is a good idea. I can tend to be a procrastinator, but I have ound that I use my time more wisely if I plan it out and check things off.

  9. I just graduated high school this year and let me tell you I wouldn't have survived if it werent for my planner. Don't buy one yet though, because your school should give them out, so wait and see if they do that. Honestly just write EVERYTHING in it, not only does it help you out with organization, but its really fun to go back and look at them a few years later.
