First of all, as  a Canadian, Bienvenido! It is also nice to hear that someone is emigrating to one of the small cities or towns rather than to the seething masses of the big cities. Miramichi is a lovely part of the world, composed of two formerly separate towns, Chatham and Newcastle. It sits on the river after which it was named, the beautiful Miramichi which used to be a fine place for fishing the delicious Atlantic salmon.

I do not know the town well anymore as it was years ago that I lived nearby while working on wildlife studies. You are not far, however, from the shores of the Gulf of St. Lawrence where the delicacy of fried soft shell clams is not to be missed. Shediac is famous for these but the flagship clam restaurant, Gould's has fallen in quality. Of course the Atlantic lobster also reigns in this part of the world, a creature quite different from the spiny lobsters that would be more common on the coasts of Mexico.

A recommendation, perhaps a little offbeat, for reading set in the Miramichi area and providing a view, at times somewhat sombre, of aspects of society there; do not miss the work of David Adams Richards. In addition to his dark, intriguing novels (example: "For Those Who Hunt the Wounded Down") he wrote a wonderful book about fishing on the Miramichi, "Lines on the Water".

Ola.  Miramichi, New Brunswick will be a major change from Mexico.  It is very cold there in the winter and heavy rain in the spring which sometimes causes flooding throughout major parts of New Brunswick.  If you are originally from Mexico I would suggest moving to southern Ontario or British Columbia as the climate is a little easier to take.
