i am an BE computer science student.. ..campus placement will be staring in college soon... actually as of now my aggregate is very less..its 63%....i am getting really scareds of my future.. can any one plz guide me..?..plz..plz...could any one tell me how do i prepare for my campus placement..? can any one plz suggest some books or any website frojm where i can see company papers....plz help me out....plz...

no need to worry,, %age is just to short list candidates,, but companies and recruiters always look for the bolness and confidence in u,, not the %age and marks u scored always,, i suggest u to be bold and honest and confident during ur interviews,, even if u know only about 20% abt it,, just show it like u know 90% ,, and u should have that attitude to learn it soon and shoot it,,

Just pick any CAT quant book....and brush up things...

getting shortlisted is not a big deal....

Just realx...and keep it simple...

If U  loose your wits like this ..it is gonna be difficult.

prepare one subject well may be networking , C/C++ prog  or java. which ever you think you are confident.

if you are confident in your project work ( BE project),then tell them i know this  and they will ask you question in that.

In any case campus recruiter do look for good people , not necessarily based on numbers.

basically in India there are two kinds of companies coming to campus- core companies and IT companies. IBanks go to IITs etc...

In IT companies there are two kinds- service and product companies. Product companies like Microsoft,Cisco,Adobe,Google visit select campuses and have high cut off.... They require good profile as well as projects,internships etc etc

so you shd aspire for service companies...generally they have eligibility as 10,12 boards and engg should be greater than 60% generally...

to prepare study these subjects well-c,c++,dbms and some portions of network,os,linux

c,c++: test ur skills-y kanetkar should be by-heart

            let us c,c++

            complete reference-schildt

            mcq questions from diff companies papers

dbms- do korth and read oracle guides

os- galvin

linux- basic file system knowledge and commands

For Aptitude and Logical Reasoning read RS Agarwal two books are available in market.

Lastly internet is best guide... go thru sites like

freshersworld and chetanas

Also search in google fot latest question papers....

Some companies are notorious in repeating papers..so be prepared.
