Hiii frds, can any one say which post is higher in IT industries??SOftware Engineer or a Project Engineer?

hai yaar,

       i guess software engineer would be gr8. because this is an it era and India is a developing country so lots of it companies r coming up at India. i know companies require project engineer also but the software engineer are required more compared to it. and definetely the pay of software engineer is high means very high compared to it.

Only one of these is a real engineer.  The other is a title that does not require an engineering degree.

Both are of equal importance, Which is of greater importance all depends on what stage a particular project is at.  Software Engineers write the programs, and make sure the intended project works. The Project Engineer has oversight of the whole project making sure that it all works together, stays in budget, resolves issues, and does their best to get the project done, and operating to the buyer's specifications. The real question is, who has to put up with mean demanding, and ornery people without losing their temper, that is, be the politician, versus who can throw a "hissy fit" and most likely get away with it. Which are you best at, being the politician, or the program writer who may very well never see the customer?
