Coast Walk is a NO NO. Yeah Duke of Ed? It's too easy. I live in the suburb next to Otford and have done the coast walk several times. except camping at Era.

PLEASE. NOT EASY ONES.

But thanks anyway.

  1. Do Ruined Castle (Katoomba, Blue Mountains). It is 15-20 kilometers (10 hours of walking), and can easily be done in two days. Start at the giant stairway (or golden or furber stairs) and walk towards Ruined Castle via The Landslide, stop at one of the camp sites (there is about 4 or 5 I believe, some with camp fires/logs and no toilets). Stay the night, then walk up to Ruined Castle the next day and the views are amazing, from Warragamba Dam to the Three Sisters. Walk back along the bottom to Scenic World, catch the cable car or Scenic Railway up (or climb up Furber Stairs) then catch a bus back to Katoomba.

  2. The Blue Mountains offer all sorts of bush walks for differing skill levels.

  3. I've done bush walking late last year with my school.

We started off at Bundeena in the Royal National Park and walked south to Garie where we stopped for the night. The next day, we completed the walk to Otford. It took around 5 hours to walk from Bundeena to Garie from memory and a bit longer from Garie to Otford because the path was rougher with more extreme slopes to conquer.

It was around a bit less than 30km but it took us well and truly 2 days.

    Hope this helps!

PS: You can consider it a hike because it's not bushes the whole way - it's more of a coastal walk.

Edit: Lol, well, it wasn't easy for us! and yeah, it was Duke of Ed.

  4. This site http://www.wildwalks.com/ has some ideas.

If you are going in the next couple of weeks do the classic Kiandra to Kossie walk. Abit longer than 3 days unless you can do big days.  You can drop down to Munyang from Schlink Pass to shorten it a bit.  Weather and snow will make this one a bit suss in a few weeks.  There are lots of other suitable walks in the Kosciuszko NP.

TThere is a great coast walk from the Nadgee Nature Reserve south of Eden into Croanjingalong NP in Victoria.  You might need a permit to get into Nadgee.
