Hiking Trip????? Help!?

Me, my 2 uncles, my aunt, my mom, my brother, and my grandpa are going on a hiking trip to the Appalachians. I'm only 14. I am excited, but a little nervous. We will be walking 5 to 10 miles a day on our trail. And all of us have to carry and 10-20 pound pack with our stuff in it. I am more in shape than most people, but I can run 2 miles in track practice. Maybe 4 or 3 if our coaches don't make us sprint without rest. How hard would it be to walk 8 miles with a 15 pound pack on you back? Also what should I bring? People that have done this before would probably give the best tips. Thank you.

also i can bench just 50 pounds (i know im weak) and I can carry my 40 pound brother on my back easily, but I don't know how long I could keep him on there.

  1. I think you could do it, but a 15 pound pack sounds pretty light. That's not much more than a typical book bag. Maybe the guys are trying to help out by carrying the heavy stuff.

My 11 year old son, who is in average shape did fine hiking about 8 miles a day with a 30 pound pack.
