Australia’s one-day international squad underwent a reshuffle with pacer, Ben Hilfenhaus, called in to replace the injured Brett Lee in the lineup for Australia’s ODI against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Sri-Lanka-c758 on February 10th.
Lee will be out of action for six weeks, having suffered a toe fracture during the second T20 loss against India at the MCG. Hilfenhaus, who has been brought in to replace the veteran fast bowler, will be making his first comeback to ODIs after two years.
“The NSP has named Ben Hilfenhaus in the squad for the game against Sri Lanka in Perth on Friday," Australia’s national selector http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Robert-John-Inverarity-c85980 confirmed. "Ben will replace the injured Brett Lee. The bowling attack for Perth is likely to be the same as
the one that did so well in Melbourne and Ben will be in Perth to provide cover."
The 28-year-old pacer played his last ODI during http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746’s tour of India in November 2009, after which his knee tendinitis restricted him solely to concentrate on reviving his Test career with the national team. His record in the longer version spans 21
matches, with 82 wickets.
Hilfenhaus played a crucial role in Australia’s current Test series victory against the Men In Blue, where he topped the wicket- taking chart with 22 scalps at an impressive 17.22. His match-winning performances has led to his inclusion in the ODI squad
in place of the injured Lee, where he will, undoubtedly, be looking to improve on his current average of 39.83.
Australia will be playing Sri Lanka this Friday at Perth, and will face off against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Lions-c808, and may also join the squad for the ODI against India on Sunday.
Along with Hilfenhaus, other changes to the squad include http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Mitchell-Marsh-c1974 (who is currently playing in the Sheffield
Shield fixture in Perth, and also filled in for Lee last October during an ODI series against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Nathan-Coulter-Nile-c2070.
