  1. No delegates because they moved up the date, it was called a primary instead of caucus.

  2. Michigan moved their primary earlier, against the rules of the Democratic party.  As a result, the party is punishing Michigan by making their primary not count.

    Similar situation in Florida.

  3. Because the democratic national committee took Michigans delegates away from them for holding their primary so soon.

  4. As it will not be counted.

Under Democratic National Committee rules, no state may hold their primaries or caucuses before February 5 with the exceptions of Iowa, Nevada, New Hampshire, and South Carolina.

Michigan has moved its primary to January 15, 2008,  in violation of party rules. The Democratic National Committee voted to deny Michigan’s request to hold its primary on January 15 and declared that Michigan’s delegates will not count in the nominating contest unless Michigan moves its primary to a later date.

As a result, Barack Obama, Bill Richardson, Joe Biden, and John Edwards pulled their names from the Michigan Democratic Primary ballot.

Florida is also going to violate party rules.

USA has the weirdest process for electing their head of state.

  5. Because Michigan and Florida moved up their primaries in defiance of the national party, no delegates for primaries are to be rewarded.

  6. Because no one likes Michigan it's all one big plot.  Good lord did you just start watching the news today?  Michigan Dems got a little too big for their britches, ignored the party's primary rules and got their pee-pee spanked.  Try really hard to keep up this ain't brain surgery and thank god for that.
