Hillbilly Boy to steal the show in the British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing E B F Maiden Stakes
Windsor will be hosting the British Stallion Studs Supporting British Racing E B F Maiden Stakes on 30th April, 2012, where six runners will compete for a purse of £3,235 over a distance of five furlongs
and ten yards.
Two of the six runners, Fat Gary and Jimmy Elder, will be making their debut on a track that has been labelled soft.
Fat Gary, the son of Dutch Art, out of Suzuki, is trained by Tom Dascombe for owners Fat Gary Sports. The two-year-old colt was whelped on 5th February, 2010 and is bred by J. M. Beever.
Jimmy Elder, son of Invincible Spirit, out of Hijab, is owned by Pineapple Stud, and currently under the training of Richard Hannon. Because of his trainer’s reputation, he is expected to excel in this race.
Hillbilly Boy, son of Haafhd, out of mare Erreur, has done considerably well at such a young age. The two-year-old colt was whelped on 23rd February, 2010, and has already competed in two starts.
The bay colt started his racing career in Southwell, where he raced as a favourite with odds of 85 to 40. Teamed with jockey, Darren Edward Egan, he finished fourth, 4 lengths after the third place finisher, Crystal Cove on 10th
April, 2012.
The Bill Turner trained colt showed progression in his next start, as he finished as a runner-up in the Andy Taylor Snr Is 70 Today Maiden Auction Stakes (Div I) at Beverley on 18th April, 2012, where he was coupled with jockey,
Duilio Da Silva.
The Bill Turner trained colt lost by a margin of a neck to the Richard Fahey trained, Ingleby Royale, and had to settle for a second place finish.
Yes Two, also looks like a promising contender as he finished third in his career maiden.
The son of Indesatchel, out of mare Charlie Girl, stood third in the E B F Betfred "Will They Won't They" Novice Stakes, as he lost by three lengths to winner, Dreamy Ciara and two lengths behind the runner-up and race favourite, Black Monk at Nottingham
on 11th April, 2012.
It seems that Hillbilly Boy will win this race, but it won’t come that easy. The second place is likely to be secured by Yes Two.
