The Group C match between Himachal Pradesh and Andhra in the Ranji Trophy was a draw when Himachal Pradesh, who required 390 to win failed to reach the target after Andhra declared on 282 in their second innings at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Stadium, Nadaun.
The day began with Andhra resuming their innings from 181 for three, and having had scored 372 in their first innings, they were in a driving seat on the final day. However, they still required a comfortable lead to be on the safe side.
With B Sumanth and AA Muzumdar well set on 73 and 89, the batsmen were expected to continue their good run with the bat till lunch.
However, with just 200 on the board, the partnership met its end on the demise of Sumanth for 81.

Things took an ugly turn when Dhawan had Muzumdar caught behind for 104 at a time when the batting side had scored 218 runs.
