Himrayn to shape up for the 32Red.Com Handicap Hurdle at Huntingdon on 14th March
The Class 5 32Red.Com Handicap Hurdle is to be staged at Huntingdon over two miles, five furlongs and 110 yards on Wednesday, 14th March. The event has attracted a lineup of ten runners and has the purse worth £1, 689 for the winner today.
One of the best prospects from among the lineup is Himrayn, Generous’ nine-year-old bay gelding out of mare Himaya, he was active bagging victories around this time last year.
Himrayn won the Trevor Linfoot Handicap Chase on 13th March 2011 at Market Rasen over two miles and two furlongs. Coupled with jockey Richie McLernon, the winner led the track of nine by ten lengths. Quipe Me Posted was the runner up of the race
while taking refuge with the third place after the winner was Kercabellec.
The 4/1 favourite of the race, Persian Prince, ended fifth.
Next door to victory opened up on 26th March in the Happy Birthday Charlie WheelWright Handicap Chase at Stratford over two miles and four furlongs. The 9/4 favourite winner of the race, Himrayn once again had Richie McLernon onboard.
Getting deprived of victory by seven lengths and taking up the runner up’s position was The Paddy Premium who was soon followed on the other end of the wire by Piment D’Estruval.
The nine-year-old has cracked into the new season but could not claim the race. He finished fourth in the Nottinghamshire Conditional Jockeys’ Handicap Hurdle on 29th February at Southwell over two miles and four and a half furlong.
The race was won by the 7/2 favourite, Royal Entourage.
Today Himrayn is all in for making the second start of the season today and it is being expected that he will spurt up with the performance level that he displayed last year.
An entry to look out for is Whistling Senator trained by Jonjo O’Neill, as his first outing of the new season was at Southwell on 15th February in the Win A Copy At Win.BetAngel.Com Handicap Hurdle over two miles. The 5/4 favourite of the race
finished third on the lineup of ten while the race was won by Santo Thomas.
Whistling Senator failed in the next attempt that was at Taunton and is venturing out for a third time during the season today.
