Well, depending on the region (or you can say state/language) , the wedding rituals,costumes,events differ. Normally the groom goes to the bride's place for the marriage ceremony . A typical marriage lasts as long as 4-5 hrs .hehehe.. The groom's friends, relatives who attend the marriage at the bride's place are called "barati" .

All Indian marriages are full of dance,songs,celebrations,fireworks ..

Hindu weddings have elaborate ceremonies.

Traditionally the Groom and family come in a procession to the Bride's place.

Groom wears white, off white - Usually a Dhoti- Kurta, or a long coat with tight pajamas.

Brides traditionally wear Red, maroon, pink and some even wear a mustard yellow with red border. All shades of Red being the color.

Saris are usually worn. Modern brides have taken to Lehenga - a long skirt with blouse and a veil.

Jewelry- usually very elaborate. The more resource one has, the more they wear. Ranging from heavy gold to costume jewelry, as per the pocket.
