Hints and Tips for 2 year old flower girl?

My daughter is going to be flowergirl for my sisters wedding. She will have JUST turned 2.

Of course, i'm not expecting anything close to perfection... but I was just wondering if anybody had any ideas on how we can make it easier on her.

I am a bridesmaid and my husband will be in the front row at the church. There is also two page boys in the bridal party, a little older than my daughter. Ha ha. Oh dear.

  1. That's really young, good luck!  You're just going to have to rehearse and have her practice a lot to make sure she really has it down.  Then when the wedding comes, you're just going to have to hope she does it.  If she doesn't want to do it, you're just going to have to accept it, even if she decides this at the last moment.

  2. Perhaps she'd like a cute teddy that goes with the colors of the dresses, rather than some flowers or whatever she was going to have.

If you tell her to walk towards your husband, which is presumably her father, she may do it "nicely". She could walk between the two boys as well? That might look cute.

  3. Try and make her as comfortable as possible. Explain to her what she has  do and practice with her. I don't mean to bribe her but promise her her favorite candy or doll after so she has something to look forward to.

  4. Hehe, good luck! You may want to arrange to have someone who won't mind missing the actual wedding if she throws a fit. I helped at a wedding last october, they had their 4 year old twins as flower girl and ring bearer, and poor Niko, the ring bearer, flipped out and had to be brought to the reception hall during the wedding. Just practice with her, and tell her what a big girl she is. She may get the idea.

    Good luck!
