Rock isn't dead. It's just a bit... ill right now. But that's okay, because it's  Licensed To ill(I'm deeply sorry for that). But no, rock isn't dead. In fact, it's thriving in a lot of places. Especially Europe. There's a LOT of great British stuff out there right now. But there is a bunch of great stuff in the U.S. right now. You just have to look.

Have you noticed how uninspiring and mainstream most of the music is today?

The ones who are putting out quality music are those who have already been established for some time.

u got some good rock bands coming up, people are playing good riffs and solos again, drummers are a h**l of alot better now, u still got a lot of the older bands going strong, zepplin might record some new stuff. So rock aint dead, its gonna re-emerge.

hip-hop is definantly at its weakest point ever, a lot of c**p artist put now, plus theres way to many, same thing that made rock fade. Plus everything comes in and out of fasion, rap wont be at the top forever.

Idk.... its hard 2 say cause there is good rock but like its rare 2 find it now..... i would say the offsprings pretty good right now, but idk i hope it doesnt die......  i dont think it will..... i agree with the guy who said rap and hip hop is like a bug where it wont die when u try 2 kill it lol

rock as it was in the 1980s and 90s is dead and rotting, all we have these days is a bunch of wannabe skinny girly boys and mindless idiots screeching into the microphone and calling it "rock." Even most of the rock Gods from the hayday have sold out, its a sad time indeed.

Almost. While we do still have weezer, foo fighters and smashing pumpkins, that's just about it for the good rock music. Nowadays the "sound" is bubble gum pop c**p and artists want to make it so that's the direction they go in. so sad :(
