i had to take about a year off of gymnastics (due to an injury) and puberty hit because of my lack of intense exercise :( (BAD THING for a gymnast) my hips have widened and it looks weird in a leotard. i'm going to try and lose about 8 pounds (i'm 107 now so i will be 99) so if i lose some pounds will my hips shrink back down? i dont know if bones can shrink haha...

  1. Hips aren't completely fat, but women do usually build fat on their hips first, so it might be corrected when you lose the weight.

    but sometimes, it's bones flaring out, giving women that flare of their hips, so there is a chance that you won't go back to normal.

    Besides, look at Alicia Sacramone, the girl everyone blames for losing the olympics.  She is curvy, and still able to claim that she is amoung the best gymnasts in the world.  I mean, she made it to the olympics.

  2. I have the same problem at the minute!

    Its horrible and i hate my hips

    But no amount of exercise won't take the weight off

    Its horrible =[

    Sorry babes x

  3. no, no matter how much weight you lose, your bones will still be the same size

    sorry =/
