Hiptop 3, only for $199?

I have $350 and am looking for a cheap PDA phone. I came accross Fone Zone's website and they are selling a Telstra Hiptop 3 for only $199. The link is here: http://www.fonezone.com.au/default.asp?p=20421&pdaID=43

So why is this phone so cheap? Is it on a contract and what is the deal with it?

Well you would need to resgister for a plan. Also there is a plan that in $20.00 for the Sidekick Unlimited. So if you don't have the plan while you have the phone the phone gets really boring. You won't have internet, catalog, email, messenger services.

The price for that is very expensive! The Sidekick 3 isn't even sold from T-Mobile anymore. It's $99.99 on the T-Mobile site sometimes. But only on rare ocassions. For $199.99 you can get the Sidekick Slide, LX, anything like that. On www.t-mobile.com

The website that you were looking at only allows you to buy the phone if you sign up for a 2 year contract.

i've been calling around FoneZone all day and they're pretty much sold out EVERYWHERE!! I even tried shops in other states, and they say they're going to tryy to get some more HipTop 3's, but that you'd have to join a waiting list and they may not even get any more in.

Actually, Fone Zone should sell it to you for $99, not $199. I bought mine from Fone Zone today as an upgrade from my ht2 for $99 and I know people who've purchased hiptop3's from Fone Zone for this price as well. Just ask to speak to a supervisor or manager and you should get this price.

It'll be hard to find the ht3 though. There are very few left in Australia by now and they're going fast.

But if you're not going to go on the plan, it's really not worth it.

I just bought mine today for 199 from Fone Zone. And im using it on Optus at the moment. The only reason they are so cheap is because they are selling them all out because of the new Hiptop Slide. Im very happy with mine.

If you have the cash, buy it =)
