Hiring a car in Vietnam?

Question

Can anyone recommend a good hire car company in Ho Chi Minh with the most friendly and honest service and comfortable modern cars? But maybe not the most expensive. We are four adults wanting to travel from HCM to Hoi An over 3 or 4 days in January, stopping at interesting places we know and staying in the hotels we choose (so we do not want to take the Open Bus).

I understand that we cannot drive ourselves so must also hire a driver with the car and provide their food and accommodation - is that correct?

If you can also recommend some cultural etiquette so we can keep our driver happy, that would be good too :)

there are many private travel agency which will serve for you from A to Z.

About the driver, give him tip and pay him meals and hotel. If there are men in your group, you can let the driver share the room with the men (save you money).

Make sure to hire the good driver and honest travel agency.

there are too may people driving bikes and motorcycle and theres no lane. I find it difficult that either way theres more chances of accident.

You should try Mai Linh co. As they are the best transportation company in Vietnam. They will provide good condition car and driver with good service. Sorry I don't know about the price, but they also take part in Travel business. If you can't find the reasonable price there, try other travel agencies.

Of course you should provide the driver food and accommodation, if not, the company will discuss about that with you, I mean if you don't provide, they will charge for overnight stay.

There 's nothing in special for the cultural etiquette for you to do with the driver. If you want to make him happy, give him some tip after your journey.
