  1. If you are thrifty and capable, consider doing your own packing, renting and driving your own truck and hiring day laborers at your local hardware/home improvement store to move furniture and boxes into and out of your apartments. You could save 50% by doing this. Some people worry about day laborers not being professional and legal issues. Professionalism might be an issue but day laborers are here illegally and will not be reporting you for hiring them or suing if they injure themselves. They are also desperate for work so it is easy to haggle more reasonable prices with them.

With three adults moving furniture and a lot of little stuff give yourself 3-6hrs moving out and moving in.

  2. i suggest you move it yourself. i used to work for "starving student" and can tell you its going to cost you a h**l of allot money to move that way

your better off getting people you know to help you and if you cant pay them or won't pay them for what ever reason they will take your most expensive item(s) and hold them hostage. some will ask for payment upfront then refuse to refund the balance if they finish sooner.

  3. 1) You can pay them to pack your things

    2) They will carry all your furniture/ boxes out to the moving van and then out of the moving van into your new place

    3) I tip based on performance

    4) Not sure. This is a question for the company you choose
