I applied for employment positions in NGOs. I am just wondering how do they conduct interview with me?

The main office is in CA, but my job is in DC. They have an office in DC. However, I don't know where it's located.

Thank you very much.

  1. Interview for NGOs will be about public service and field operations.  Thus, the applicant must practically promise to be a hard worker.

  2. NGOs screen applications and then come up with a shortlist. Only shortlisted applicants are scheduled for interviews. If the applicant lives in another state or country, they would either do a phone interview or fly you to their office all expenses paid. If they do the latter, they will arrange for your accommodation, etc.

I work for an international NGO and my only advice for you when you go for an interview is to thoroughly prepare for it. Make sure that you know the NGO and its work (so you have to do a little research) and that you'll be able to articulately tell them how you will be able to contribute to their work.
