Hiroki Kuroda finally returns to the Los Angeles Dodgers
The 2010 World Series ended with the San Francisco Giants clinching the final victory and that alone marked the last time any team would feature in playing ball this year. With over 40 days left till the end of the year, there is much speculation in the
market over who will go into the spring training period with a strong side on the cards. The ball clubs in both the National and American League are looking for a way to improve their squads in the time they have left. The objective would be to improve the
sides’ weaknesses that were prevalent during the regular season and the post season.
For many ball clubs the opportunity is now up for grabs as players from various teams are heading over to the free agency, looking for better contract deals. Stars looking for a better future in Major League Baseball have the window to decide who they pair
up with, heading into the next season. The task may seem hard at first as the decision takes into affect the clubs’ conditions, environment and roster strength. Apart from that, free agents look for family support features present in the city represented by
the franchise. For players like Cliff Lee, Jayson Werth and Carl Crawford, the final decision in choosing where to live matters a lot. The players have played the game for a long while and the chance to move to where ever they want is on for consideration.
For Hiroki Kuroda, who originates from Japan, the decision was not tough. The high ace pitcher has been doing well for himself in the country, playing for the Los Angeles Dodgers. He, along with Ted Lily, has led the ball club to countless victories and
with a $35.3 million three year contract, there was nothing different required of him. However, the veteran who is going to turn 36 years old in February went into free agency, this off season. His 31 starts in the last game saw him post an Earning runs Average
of 3.39.
At first he was rumoured to have been thinking about moving back to Japan but by the end of the day, he considered an $8 million deal with the side that extended the contract for this year. The top pitcher will be getting an amount of $4 million in bonus
for signing. The amount will be paid out by 2013.
