Hiroyuki Nakajima shows great esteem for Billy Beane – MLB Oakland Athletics Special
Before even adjusting into the Oakland Athletics franchise, Japanese star Hiroyuki Nakajima is showing great esteem for general manager Billy Beane. He has been recently signed by the Athletics with a two-year $6.5 million deal.
He was introduced by the Athletics management in a press conference where he talked openly about general manager Billy Beane. In-fact he seems a great fan of Athletics magician strategy maker Beane, whose hard-work and consistent believe in his all players
led the team into 2012 Major League Baseball season’s playoffs.
It was a huge achievement by the Athletics’ entire roster which from start of the season looked aggressive and did what no-one could think of. It is quite certain that Major League Baseball is a big league where many things play their part in any team’s
success. 40-man roster, financial resources to sign experienced players and training facilities always are huge things to get good and consistent results.
The Athletics on the other hand, did without all these factors. They had not so many big players along with less financial resources but still with Beane’s vision, the Athletics certainly surprised many and showed consistent plays all season long.
Now since they have signed Japanese international Hiroyuki Nakajima, he is expressing the same gratitude for Beane who was the man behind in Athletics success.
“Hi Oakland, my name is Hiroyuki Nakajima, but you can call me Hiro. I am honored to be here today. Thank you very much, Mr. Beane. I will do my best for the team, but I also want to do the 'Bernie Dance' with Oakland," Nakajima said.
He added, "I heard a lot about it, Part of the reason they made it to the postseason was team chemistry, youth and energy. I'm fascinated and excited to be part of that."
He further added, prompting considerable laughter from a roomful of Bay Area and Japanese media, "(A's general manager) Billy Beane is extremely s**y and cool, That's definitely one of the reasons I signed here."
Meanwhile, experts believe that Nakajima is a talented player and will be providing great offensive power to Oakland Athletics.
