This guy I have recently started dating comes from England, and his family is Jewish. My family is very open-minded Christian. I'm worried that HIS family won't accept me because I'm not Jewish (I guess I'm basing this off of a stereotype because I haven't been around Jewish families?) have you ever been in a mixed-religion relationship? My boyfriend isn't a "strict" Jew, and I'm not a "strict" Christian... It's mostly his family I'm worried about... what has been your experience/relationships you've witnessed?

What if his family doesn't want us to get serious and pressures him to beak it off with me? Help.

  1. ive been with a jew girl before her parents were pretty jewish but they did not care that i was dating there daughter and im catholic but not strict catholic and she wasnt strict jew!! religion shouldnt matter..

  2. What all of the studies show is that intermarried couples have a much harder time of things than couples with one or no religion.  At least before things get too serious, have a **long** discussion about how any kids might be raised.  Again, all of the studies have shown that kids raised with "both" will end up with neither; and this is typically a very high stress point for the parents--think about how each of you would feel if the kids are raised with the other's religion.  How would *you* feel if Christmas, etc., is not allowed in your home?  Things like that.
