The future of France national team boss Laurent Blanc has come under intense scrutiny over the past few weeks. While talking to the media, the former Manchester United man had a few things to say
The future of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/France-c2899 national team manager, Laurent Blanc has come under a lot of scrutiny since the beginning of the New Year. Reports claim that the French Football Federation will not retain the services of the former World Cup winner after Les Bleus’
European Championship campaign ends.
Reports claim that the Frenchman’s relationship with FFF president Noel Le Graet are not that cordial and duo don’t seem to look eye to eye. Furthermore, Blanc’s contract is yet to be renewed which further poses questions on his future.
While talking to Monde, the Frenchman spoke about all the controversies especially the one that has been cited as the major reason behind Blanc not getting a lease. Le Graet is not happy with how much the technical staff has cost in the lead up to France’s
qualification for Euro 2012.
Blanc says that he wanted to change things and had to do this under three different presidents. In the last 17 months, France Football Federation has seen three presidential changes.
“I was told: “Choose men”. Then I set up a staff with people who had the same motivation, the same spirit and the same goal as me. And I’m very satisfied. The choice of men, I assume, was right. But discussions of contracts, salaries, you think it is me
who leads them? Not at all. This is the Federation taht validated everything. One could of course, improve the operation.”
Blanc added that if France really aspire to be among the big boys, they need to look at how things are currently being done in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 where the staff is much deeper and very expensive.
The recent rumours that suggest Le Graet’s displeasure at the way money has been spent on Les Bleus is pretty ridiculous to say the least. In the past four years, the likes of Germany, Italy, Spain and even England have invested heavily on technical staff
which has now become a necessity for every national team.
