Hispania Racing Team confident for 2011 Singapore GP with new upgrades – Formula 1 news
Hispania Racing Team is confident about their new upgrades for the upcoming 2011 Singapore Grand Prix taking place on September 25, 2011.
Team principal Colin Kolles has said that HRT are hopeful of getting better results in the 2011 Singapore race weekend. They believe the team drivers can make progress with some new updates in Singapore, which they have recently delivered to their F111 car
for the rest of the 2011 Formula 1 season.
After a disappointing 2011 Italian Grand Prix, the Spanish squad decided to introduce some upgrades in their car for the last six rounds of the ongoing season. However, they will test some updates on the aero side during the Friday Free Practice session
at the Marina Bay Street Circuit next weekend.
Kolles commented, “We are bringing some updates on the aero side like a modified engine cover and a new underfloor that we hope will help us to close the gap to our rivals. Last year we couldn't make it to the end but this time, with everybody's effort,
I am sure we can hope for a two-car finish in Singapore next Sunday.”
He went on to mention, “We expect Tonio to take the most out of his experience and push the car and the team, while Daniel should keep on improving and take another step forward on a track that he has never raced before.”
The team is aiming to get very close to their rivals, which include Virgin Racing Team and Team Lotus in the Singapore race weekend.
The HRT principal further added that they are hopeful that both of their drivers Daniel Ricciardo and Vitantonio Liuzzi will finish the race on the grid in Singapore following their below par results in the Monza race.
The team driver Liuzzi was unable to complete his race in Italy due to an accident in the first corner of the circuit.
After competing 13 rounds of the season, they are at the same position where they were in the start.
Let’s see how both of the drivers manage their race at the Marina Bay Street Circuit next weekend with the new upgrades.
