Hispania Racing Team reveal pictures of their new car F111 for 2011 Formula 1 season
Hispania Racing Team have revealed first images of its F111 to the media. The car is completely engineered by HRT team under supervision of Geoff Willis and Chief Designer Paul White.
The F111 is completely different in looks from its ancestor F110 which was used last year. The new looks are given by Daniel Simon, who is known for his imaginative designs in motorsports and also in Hollywood.
Most of the car has open spaces for the sponsors who might want to use it and there is one new sponsor TATA which comes from new team driver Narain Karthikeyan.
The team boss Colin Kolles said about the car, “The F111 represents a significant step forward for Hispania Racing. What you see in our new car confirms Hispania Racing’s commitment to F1.”
Kolles also said that F111 will also use movable rear wing technology. He also said that F111 will be upgraded throughout the 2011 season.
In 2010, HRT made its debut and managed to finish 11th in the constructors championship ahead of Virgin Racing Team. This year they will also have to complete the qualifiers in 107 percent of the fastest time according
to the 2011 Formula 1 rules.
HRT have only confirmed one driver that is Narain Karthikeyan and they are yet to decide the teammate of Narain and the reserve driver for the 2011 season.
Their last year drivers were Karun Chandhok and Bruno Senna. Chandhok has been confirmed by Lotus as reserve driver but Senna is still available unless he is called upon by a bigger team Renault if Robert Kubica is declared unfit.
HRT used F110 in Valencia test session and their only driver raced all three days and completed 188 laps with a best time of 1 minute and 14.472 seconds on the second day.
No official word was given by the team but it seems that F111 will be officially launched in the last test session.
