Hispania Racing Team reveals 2011 car images – Formula 1 news
Hispania Racing Team are the only team left which has not revealed its new car for the 2011 Formula 1 season yet.
The team stated that they will launch their new car sometime before the final pre-season test session which is expected to take place in Bahrain before the season opening race at the same venue on March 13, 2011.
As a preview, the team recently revealed some rendered pictures of their 2011 car in order to give an idea of what their car is going to look like. The most interesting new change in their 2011 car is the distinctive livery.
The new HRT car is going to be known as the “F111” and it has been designed under the technical leadership of Geoff Willis. According to the team’s boss Colin Kolles, the 2011 car is a significant step forward for the team.
“The F111 represents a significant step forward for Hispania Racing. We have made a big improvement for starting our second season in Formula One and what you see in our new car confirms Hispania Racing´s commitment to F1,” said Kolles.
Other than that, the F111 will add in the adjustable rear wing device as the rules and regulations report that was revealed by the FIA officially states that the device is mandatory.
Hispania Racing Team, Virgin Racing Team and Lotus Racing Team became a part of the sport in 2010 but unfortunately, none of the three new teams was able to secure a single point throughout the 2010 Formula 1 season but all three of them will be back for
another season in the sport.
HRT are pretty confident that they will improve a lot in 2011 and the team claims that they understand the “mechanics” of Formula 1 more than they did in 2010 and now, they are going to try to compete with the established teams in the sport.
“We feel really proud of the car our drivers will run this forthcoming season. Despite a challenging first year, we managed to finish on the eleventh position in the world constructors championship,” HRT president Jose Ramon Carabante said.
Since the team has Narain Karthikeyan by its side and since the team is pleased with the specifications of the new F111, the team will now learn even more and hopefully give a better performance than they did in 2010.
