Hispania Racing Team to have a new car for 2012 season – Formula 1 news
Hispania Racing team is gunning to be able to start the 2012 season with the new edition of their car.
Rumours surfaced that HRT might start the season with their 2011 car as HRT announced that they will not be able to participate in the first pre-season test.
HRT had a poor season in 2011 placing 11th in the constructors’ championship only ahead of Marussia previously known as Virgin Racing.
BBC quoted a spokesperson from the team who admitted that there has been a critical delay in getting the car ready but it is expected to be ready in time for the second pre-season test.
HRT will be starting the 2012 season with a lot of changes to the team personnel new owners and a new team Principal Luis Perez-Sala. The team has yet to decide on one of their drivers as well while Pedro de la Rosa has been confirmed as one.
The spokesman said that the team Principal is not available for comment as he is fully focused on the getting everything ready for the upcoming season and the new team mantra is work first then talk. The team plans to be ready for the second test as of now
and hopes that everything will be done in time.
“Luis Perez-Sala is fully focused at the moment on the car and the new structure, and he prefers not to give any statements or interviews to the press for now until everything is in place. The philosophy of the new owners has always been first work and then
talk. And try to be as open and honest as possible,” he said.
“There's been, and still is, a lot to work on but, even if we may struggle in the beginning, the structure that is being built now is a lot more solid, reliable and committed,” he added.
He further explained that the team wants to change the team’s perception with all the hard work they are putting in to show that the team is here to win. It is understood that the struggle to become a reliable competitive team is not going to be an easy
task but it is still manageable.
