Hispania Racing Team unveil their car for the 2011 Formula 1 season
Formula 1 team Hispania Racing Team has finally unveiled its new F111 car on Friday, March 11, 2011.
The Spanish team launched its car in the presence of both team drivers Narain Karthikeyan and Vitantonio Liuzzi as the machine has been completely assembled.
The drivers were extremely happy about HRT’s upgraded chassis. Karthikeyan stated at the occasion that the F111 will definitely be better than the 2010 car as new functions have been installed in it.
He said, “It will be a challenging season as we haven’t used the car so I expect Australia to be a tough start. Still, I am ready for the challenge and will give it my best. Tonio has a lot of knowledge from driving recently in F1, so this will surely be
very positive for the team.”
Former Force India driver Liuzzi, was also excited about the season races especially after HRT confirmed him as the race driver for 2011 season. He admitted that there is a lot of work to do with the new F111 car as he was not yet used to its setup.
Liuzzi said, “Driving a team to success is much like making a puzzle, you must try to build it in the best possible way in order to work in harmony and quickly to make up for lost time. I believe we have all the right ingredients needed to be successful.”
The car design features a shining new red and white livery, Williams LG14 transmission, all new rear suspensions and consists of complete aero dynamic package.
HRT technical director Geoff Willis told the media that he is very impressed with the result and the massive labours everyone has put in to achieve the purpose so the team must develop it over the 2011 season.
On the other hand, team principal Colin Kolles said that the team managed to have a F111 car in a very small time since they experienced a tough winter. He further added that they are confident the new car will be better than the 2010 one and that is why,
they are looking forward to a successful 2011 season.
Other than Kolles, HRT president Jose Ramon added he is feeling proud ahead of the team’s hard working on the car.
He said, “The design is innovative and futuristic, it catches your eye, but we mustn’t forget that it is also a step forwards in technical terms. I’m sure that the F111 will bring much joy to those who believe and always have believed in the growth of this
team. I can’t wait for the season to begin, the second in our short yet intense history in Formula One.”
