  1. Michoacan: Morelia, Patzcuaro, Quiroga, Uruapan

    Yes I'm from Michoacan...

  2. A few places maven't been mentioned yet.

In Mexico City, see Chapultepec Castle (see the coaches of Maxmillian and Charlotta, and the office of Benito Juarez).

Go to Guanajunto where Hidalgo led the cry for revolution against Spain.

Watch the movie FRIDA, then see her "Blue" house in Coyoacán, Mexico City.  Now a popular museum, it was donated by Diego Rivera after her death in 1954.

  3. Well, you can travel to several places...

    Central Mexico:

-Mexico City - Colonial and prehispanic culture.  From Mexica, Aztecs, Spaniard colonization, french invasions, etc...

Tehotihuacan, Cuicuilco, Templo Mayor, Cerro de la Estrella, are several pyramids on mexico city

-Guanajuato - Colonial Mexico, haciendas and forts

-Hidalgo - Colonial history, some prehispanic like Tula, massive statues and pyramids

    among others...

    South East Mexico:

-Most of this is Mayan Area

    Quintana Roo, Yucatan and Chiapas.

Chichen Itza, Tikal, Iglesia Vieja, Nakum, Naranjo, Río Azul, Altún Há, Xultún, Tulum, etc... and you can take a little crossing already to Guatemala.

    South Mexico

    -Oaxaca, Guerrero, etc

Most of these destinations you will find, Olmeca culture which is one of the most ancient civilizations of the world.

  4. Hello, you need to visit Chihuahua, enjoy the visit.

  5. Mexico City. It offers prehispanic, colonial, XIX century and contemporary history. The best museums (archeology, history, art) are in Mexico City.

Yucatan and Chiapas are great, if you want to focus on archeological sites. If you want t a bit of everything, vibrant, intense and neurotic Mexico City is the place.

  6. Chiruley practically gave you all the facts. Mexico has an incredible tour through historical sites, starting from mexico city. You can go to the South, North, center and find great places. You can visit San Luis Potosi, Aguascalientes, Zacatecas, Chihuahua, Quintana Roo, etc.
