Historical and Interesting places in Belfast Ireland?

My boyfriend is planning on taking me to Belfast this summer for my birthday (his Mom and Nana are from there). I am really excited and I love history and interesting stories about histiry. So has anyone been there and what are some of the best places to go? Are they're any famous people in history from Belfast? And what was your overall experience there?

i have been up north a few times and even doe i cant give you some tips here your in for treat there is some very nice views there and if you in to open air markets there is a good one every saturday in neawry

The Crown pub is an old Victorian liquor saloon and is renowned as being one of the most beautiful pubs in the world. The Giant's Ring is a neolithic dolmen/passage tomb & earthworks on the outskirts of the town. Belfast has a lot of history relating to it's troubled past. It's compact & easy to get around and has good shopping. The great thing about Northern Ireland is that it's a small country, it has lots of natural beauty & historical sites and everywhere is within one hours drive of Belfast!

Famous people include Van Morrison (musician), C.S. Lewis (writer) & George Best (footballer)
