Historically, which have been the better Presidents?

What is your opinion of who makes a better President from the historic prospective?

Those who come from "Washington Experience"? or those who come from "the outside"?

  1. Historically, your best presidents (Washington, Lincoln, the Roosevelts, Clinton) never served in Congress, but they had other experience in politics or the military.  

    Unfortunately, a Congressional term seems to be required these days so the candidate knows how Congress actually works. Jimmy Carter did not have that experience and he found himself blocked at every turn.    


  2. There is no such thing as an outsider. The reason people get nominated by their party is because they've played the Washington game. Yes, even former Governors who have never set foot in Washington play the Washington game. They just play it from the comfort of their own home.

    I personally would never vote for someone based solely on where they come from, but I think the best presidents have had Warshington experience.  They know how to get things through Congress.  They are more in tune with the national media and are able to use it to their advantage.
