Historically its been proven that Senators never make good presidents?

So why is it that both or presidential front runners are both senators? (bob barr is just a distraction)

What was the american people thinking? or is this more proof that the american masses are out of touch with politics and political history?

Because the people decide based on whatever criteria they choose and nothing can force them to be logical about it. Freedom to be uninformed and have a superficial understanding of politics is still freedom
