History Examination ?

For IGCSE History, is it important to remember all the dates and figures (deaths and stuffs like that)? I'm not sure and I am revising the whole of WWI, WWII and the Cold War and other Chapters now. I got a little trouble remembering the dates, figures and names of Foreign Ministers and so on. Uh, does remembering all these stuffs actually help you to score higher marks as you might actually impress the marker?

  1. try to look around on this site http://en.wikipedia.org/ there you find a lot of history

  2. yeah! I did my history exam a few months back and got a A* i tried to remeber all the dates and names that i could. My teacher always told me that know the main ones off by heart, but if you can learn as many as possible, they arent as important but it will show the examiner that you have depth of knowledge and make you seem (even though you may not) thats you have a huge knowledge of this period of time!

my advice is to just learn the basics first and know them well, and then one by one just try to learn a few dates and names that you know will come in usefull in a number of different question senarios!

i hope you find this helpfull x
