I have to select a particular immigrant group, and write a letter from one of those immigrants back to the family he (or she) left in his home country. The letter must include the experiences you had travelling to America and what you have seen and experienced as an immigrant living in America. You can choose any immigrant group you wish, including Italians, Irish, Filipinos, Chinese, Japanese, Carribean, Mexican, and any other immigrant group you discover. You should note when the immigrant group began coming to this country, and for what reasons; what languages the group was likely to speak; what sorts of jobs an immigrant was likely to obtain; and how they would get into the country (by legal or illegal means). Make sure you research well to back up your account.

It must be 300 words. Please Help!

I need good answers please!

  1. Though i'm not myself an immigrant to America (I'm Russian) but i lived there for 4 months in 2004. I found Americans very friendly and nice people, but i didn't get to know them too deep. Working there was heard especially starting from low positions because i didn't have enough work experience in my motherland and my dilpoma was not in popular areas (IT or something).

For Russian colonization of the Americas look at this article

  2. My family came from the Isle of Mann.........early 1700s.......its a small island considered a part of the British Isles.  There are still Christians and  McChristians/McCrystens still there today.  I have yet to contact  any of them, however.

You can google 'Illiam Dhone' for info on my ancestors and possible reasons for coming here.
