  1. B must be it, but the instructor threw a curve by using the word Republicans, imagine Republicans supporting revolution!.

    Jefferson did support the French Revolution, and they referred to his party as Republicans in those days.


  2. Correct answer is probably  B) , of course being Republicans the Jeffersonians or Democratic -Republican Party of Jefferson and Adams. They opposed the Jay treaty with Britain  and often used foreign policies to oppose Hamilton's Federalist party.

    A: It depends from the different Phases, but for sure the first phases were much more extremist than the American Revolution

    C: No American troops assisted France during the Revolution (the opposite is true: general Lafayette and other pre - revolutionary French fought in America for Independence)

    D) Had some impact upon American foreign policy, pushing Washington to propose the  Proclamation of Neutrality of 1793 and the Neutrality act in 1794

    E) Absolutely not, the Federalist party was the strongest opposer of good relationships with France and was oriented to peaceful relationships with England
