  1. They were a vast and powerful group of people.  They were probably grubby by todays standards and weren't really underdogs since they kicked the Romans butt.  The Roman underdogs did mostly defeat them in the end.  I would call them grubby lovable troublemakers.

  2. lovable underdogs

  3. They put the edge on the quest for freedom from invaders.

  4. Lovable (ancestors? I am of Irish decent) and also quiet victors. They wanted peace, and they got it...then they shut up and went home instead of shoving someone else's face in their victory.

  5. Loveable underdogs, with a penchant for rugby-like behavior.

  6. Salt o the Earth me dear,Salt o the Earth.

  7. Pass me the cheese pleese Mc Taggarat. ?

  8. Both,  Grubby Lovable Trouble-making Underdogs.

    Woo-hoo!

  9. A little bit of both. Loveable Troublemakers.

  10. Well, they were the original Russians and were eventually pushed all the way to Ireland and Scotland by other people.  They had strange pagan habits and were obviously not strong enough to withstand the onslaught of other tribes or groups.  Either that, or they fell in love with Ireland and Scotland.  So I guess I consider them underdogs.
